Milk at your door in ten minutes. But the rider can't fly. So how does this happen? The secret isn't speed, it's distance. About two kilometres from your home, a dark store is hidden. It's a small warehouse no customer walks into.
And there are 1,139 such stores in 66 cities. You order, and it goes straight to the nearest store. The moment you order, the system picks the store for your address, then reserves your items so two people can't take the last milk packet. Then the pick list goes straight to the packer's handheld.
As the bag is packed, the system picks a rider who is near the store and free. Then his location comes live to your phone. Items in the bag, the bag sealed, and the rider is already waiting outside. He doesn't cross the whole city, just a short hop in your area. And the store keeps what your area buys
most. In March 2026 Zepto was delivering about 23 lakh orders a day. That's over 2,000 orders a day from one store. So the ten-minute magic isn't a fast bike. The store is near, the items are ready, and the rider rides only a little.
The real race was over before you even ordered. Which app do you use? Tell me in the comments.
